Wave hello and engage in conversations. There’s nothing wrong with a little sass and some flirtation to spice it up a little. Just don’t be a little too over the top. There was a recent study done and according to that, it’s now being said that singles who show off that perfect Colgate smile more often had a better marital success rate.
However, something else to keep in mind before saying I do. It’s been indicated that those who frown in photos are five times more likely to divorce than people who smile. Sounds crazy right? But the research has been done. In a way this all makes you think and it makes sense. If you’re getting married you would expect to be smiling overfilled with love and happiness. Why would you even frown if you’re supposed to be jumping in excitement? You can’t really hide happiness that tends to show.
So if you’re feeling unhappy there’s no hiding that. Best to get out and find a way to be happy before looking for love. Luckily we have researchers that took the time to collect some old photos of people and rated their smile intensity from one to 10. As I said, smiling has a lot of power and it’s contagious. Not surprised by the results but none of the people who had ranked in the top 10 percent for smile strength had divorced. However, the negative Nancy I’ve met through NYC matchmaking was either separated or heading straight for divorce. I’m not saying that the only way to have a happy marriage is by smiling.
These just test that has been done to understand the fundamental basis of marriage. There’s more to marriage than just smiling, but that’s a start. Smiling indicates a positive outlook on life, it’s contagious heartwarming, and makes you feel good therefore attracting fellow romantics. It’s even been said that those who smile more frequently usually have a larger network of friends, which helps keep a marriage healthy. Interestingly, those who are always serious and take everything so personally can’t ever crack a smile every now and then.
They are the same ones that have a higher percentage of having a failed marriage. Being a matchmaker in NYC I know it’s very important to be happy and give affection to your significant other. It’s fundamental to having a healthy and happy marriage, feeling loved is contagious. You tend to reciprocate what you’re receiving.
New York singles often overlook these understated characteristics in people and fail to understand these are key factors to a healthy relationship. Pay close attention so next time you’re in the making of new love, think of this information as a way to test your future together and start asking to see those embarrassing baby pictures ASAP. If you are single and want my advice for finding love… Smile!
